Blazers Unravelling

The Blazers playoff chances were dimmed further last night following a self-implode at the hands of a disciplined Kelowna Rockets squad.

The Blazers - frustrated by some big saves from Kelowna goaltender Adam Brown in the 1st period, took some unwarranted penalties in which the Rockets capitalized on.

A 5-on-3 PP for a full two minutes saw the Rockets cash in twice midway through the 2nd period to put the visitors up 3-0.

Later, Brendan Ranford's frustration boiled over when he shoved linesman Kris Hartley while being led to the penalty box. A decision that led to a game misconduct and likely supplemental discipline by the WHL.

In the end the Rockets were 4/9 on the PP for a 5-1 win. It was the Blazers 5th straight loss as they continue to head in the wrong direction in their playoff push.

Last night may have been their undoing. Even winning the last three games starting in Kelowna tonight may not be enough.

We will see what the Blazers have to offer tonight, but all signs are pointing to an earlier than expected off-season.

We're on the air tonight at 6:30pm with the pre-game show, play-by-play at 7pm.
