Home Ice Struggles

It's getting to be old hat lately for the Broncos and their fans.

The Broncos fell to 2-9 on home ice so far in 2010 after a soft effort that didn't match a determined Prince Albert Raiders who were playing like there playoff lives were on the line.

Michael Stickland opened the scoring driving the net as a Cody Eakin pass deflected off Stickland's skate. The Raiders Ryan Button tied it just 1:56 later.

Outshot 18-4 in the 2nd period, the Broncos allowed a pair of goals to put them down 3-1 after 40 minutes.

The Broncos rallied in the third to get back within one on Cody Eakin's 41st of the season. Despite outshooting the Raiders 17-9 in the third, the Broncos couldn't tie the game. The 2nd period was really their undoing.

The Raiders outshot the Broncos 47-40. 47 shots against tied the most the team has given up this season.

The Broncos remain 7th in the Eastern Conference but their play this weekend lacked the urgency of a team in a playoff battle. Prince Albert and Chilliwack came in and simply wanted it more in our building.

You could see how big of a win it was for the Raiders. C Dustin Cameron turned around to acknowledge Head Coach / GM Bruno Campese with a high five as the buzzer sounded.

Now is not the time for moral victories or "picking out the positives". It's simply a time to play hard, show-up and earn a win.

I haven't seen this team play this shitty since the Randy Smith days when they went in the tank. Pathetic!
