Here We Go.....

Despite what's usually downplayed by teams given the situation, the Broncos don't mind addressing what everyone else is talking about.

With the Broncos set to face the Kelowna Rockets tonight, it means former teammates will be facing off - each trying to burn their former team.

The teams have made a handful of deals the last couple seasons. Just last month the Broncos swapped forwards with the Rockets sending Geordie Wudrick to Kelowna in return for Stepan Novotny.

"We're not going to let him (Wudrick) score," said Broncos F Matt Tassone with a smile.

"You don't want that guy you traded to score on you while on the other hand I know Novy ( Stepan Novotny) would love to score. I think he's going to have a great game against Kelowna."

The Rockets also sport former Broncos G Mark Guggenberger. He's yet to play this season because of a pelvis injury. He's on the trip but isn't expected to face his former team tonight.

The Rockets also have G Chad Ketting who the Broncos traded to Kelowna earlier this season. Ketting never played a regular season game with the Broncos but was with them for training camp and the first week of the regular season.

There's connections off the ice as well. Rockets Assistant Coach Danny Lambert is in the Broncos Hall of Fame and is regarded as perhaps the Broncos all-time defenseman. Assistant Coach Ryan Cuthbert grew up in Swift Current and has always returned in the off-season.

It should be interesting tonight.... see you then.

Jon
