Game Day in Edmonton

Welcome to winter.

The biting winter wind, piles of snow on either side of the street...we're in Edmonton. It's -18 this morning.

Up until this point, winter hadn't arrived - especially back home in Swift Current, but getting in last night to much cooler temperatures and driving through a small winter storm en route has me letting go of any reminince of fall.

The Broncos play the Oil Kings tonight at 7pm from Rexall Place. We're on the air at 7:30pm(SK time), play-by-play at 8pm.

The team won't practice today due to ice availability. The Oilers are on the ice for practice later today. They host Flordia Thursday night in their next action.

Here's some pics as the team arrived last night.

Rexall at ice level. Capacity is somewhere around 17,000. There may be 3000 bums in the seats tonight for this contest.

Broncos December captain Matt Tassone loves playing in his hometown. He will be jumping tonight. His six game goal scoring streak was snapped Friday night vs Brandon but he carries a seven game point streak into tonight's contest.

Time to grab a coffee in the lobby and get the day started.

Stay warm,

Thank you for posting all of the pictures of the rinks. We love seeing them back in Minnesota. Go Broncos!

Holy how about those announcers tonight on the internet stream?! I can't stand how biased they are... when they have time to fit game commentary into their life story. They are missing so many plays, I really don't care whether you got a free hamburger or not and if you have more coupons in your car! I think they should be replaced asap.
