Not This Year

For the first time in three years, the WMBL championship trophy will reside outside Swift Current City Limits.
The Okotoks Dawgs held on for a 6-4 victory to take game four and the best-of-five series 3-1. Okotoks celebrates it's first championship after moving out of Calgary and should be congratulated on a great season.
As for the Tribe, they just ran out of arms in the final. Having to go deep into the bullpen in almost every game this series took it's toll. Game five starter Bryson Clark took over for Matt DeGagnemidway through game four - a sign of a depleted and arm wearing bullpen.
Still a great season from Harv and the gang and no doubt they'll be back next year hungrier than ever for a title.
The Indians are always a pleasure to deal with, great locals, outstanding American imports both on and off the field and a solid base of energetic volunteers. Somehow, Harv Martinez (left) pulls it off every year. We are very fortunate as a community to have him.
I often hear the American guys refer to their experience up here as "the best summer of their lives", hopefully they enjoyed their 12 weeks here.
The ball club will host their awards banquet either tonight or tomorrow.
